CENTERFIELDERS

Having a good centerfielder is necessary for a team to have great team defense. A successful team is typically strong up the middle. The centerfielder needs to be athletic, quick, fast, have excellent ability to determine angles going after balls and needs to have a strong throwing arm. Playing centerfield at Lutheran has its challenges as the dimensions down the lines are relatively short but to straightaway centerfield it is pretty deep. In my years at Lutheran, I never did see a home run to dead center. I have strong memories of many of our players making great catches in CF.
